Late Pick 4 Analysis for 12/31/22

The area is in a Flash Flood Watch today so looms possible for later races to be coming off the turf.  If a sloppy track comes to be later this afternoon, we'll prepare with the following analysis ready to go.  Sloppy tracks can often carry speed further than typical while kickback also deters some runners from passing so we'll base our initial attack on 2F/4F Figures and runners capable of grabbing prominent position out of trouble's way.  Even if races remain on turf, enough softness from rain can create a track that also runs favorable to speed as typical late runners don't get the traction for best acceleration that they achieve on firmer ground.

Base Ticket Off-Turf (Races 6-9):  1,2,3 / 3,7 / 2,8 / 3,4,8,9,12 = $30Base Ticket On-Turf (Races 6-9):  1,2,3 / 2,3,7 / 2,8 / 3,4,8,9,11,12 = $48

Race 6 | 7 Furlongs

#2 American CatCould be quickest gate speed off an 88.8 2F Figure last out and despite lower Final Figures than others, slop could carry speed longer here.

#6 Houndstooth *SCR*Comes off the strongest main track running line for this field with a nicely compressed 76h/73h featuring enough speed to be in it and enough late kick to finish.

Spread adds in order of preference:  #1 - #3 - #5

Race 7 | 6 Furlongs

#7 Real FirePLUN on debut with a fast 80 4F Figure and quickly more compressed to a 75h/70 last time on dirt.

#11 Side By Side *SCR*Prompted consecutive NPTs before a more compressed 74/68h earlier this year on main track.

#3 Agree To SettleTriggered a COMP pattern on debut, a big sign of next out improvement.  Also owns best wet Tomlinson rating of field.

If we stay on the Turf, upgrade #2 Above Suspicion off the PLOW here.

Spread adds in order of preference:  #2 - #10 - #9 - #6

Race 8 | 6 Furlongs

#2 Samurai CharmLocal spin earlier this year at 81h/75 is a tier above these.

#8 Doris MaeHas a 78h/72 DPT buried behind her turf spin.  Having never faced winners on dirt, she should be underbet but the rain increases her chances today.

Spread adds in order of preference:  #6 - #4 - #3 - #5

Race 9 | 6 Furlongs

#9 ViratDebut easy to dismiss but it actually triggered a PLUN pattern off a 2F/4F of 88/82h and represents a reason this one now more developed can show dramatic improvement if on the main track today.

#12 Augusta MelodyIf drawn in, popped an 86/81 off the break finishing up to a 73h Final Figure which rates best of this field.

#8 Commander KhaiTurfer has a DPT to run back to and been popping big workouts.

If we stay on Turf, add #11 I'll Stand Taller offering a nice mix of speed and compression.

#3 Code DuelloHas shown improved stamina since the break and the early 2F/4F running line of 88/84 at DMR gives him a shot to make the front.

#4 Creative PeakWas popping 80+ 2F Figures on the main track regularly before the stint on grass.

Spread adds in order of preference:  #5 - #7 - #1
