Form Cycle Focus Friday

Pattern Picks & Analysis for 1/6/23

Edit for Results:  1 for 4 with #1 Kekere getting home at just over 8/1.

Gulfstream | Race 8 | Turf | 7.5 Furlongs | Post 3:41 ET

#6 OgalaRunner has been on a nice trajectory through first 7 of career as energy distribution indicated by spreads has continued to incrementally compress while trying all 3 surfaces.

Fair Grounds | Race 4 | Dirt | 8 Furlongs | Post 3:45 ET

#2 La ChapeauOne of my favorite bet-back spots, she wasn’t able to handle all the positive conditioning from a big NPT two-back at 75/65 and threw up a non-effort next out at 65/49 which we can cross out and now back her for improvement as a likely underrated longshot.

Gulfstream | Race 9 | All-Weather | 5.5 Furlongs | Post 4:11 ET

#1 Kekere ($17.00)Here we have a maiden claiming event with 5 DTOPs entered and a single NPT.  The NPT entry stands to be in position to have better sustained pace over the suddenly forward-spent group of rivals.

Santa Anita | Race 7 | Dirt | 6 Furlongs | Post 6:05 ET

#7 La V.Should be in good condition here if carrying on the form of last 3 spins which included 2 NPTs on dirt and a nicely compressed turf try.  One knock would be some lack of recency 76 days off that cycle of good races but still appears she’ll offer nice enough price to back her holding favorable condition through the break and improving here enough to best the top contenders.  There’s a good amount of compression in this race so could serve her best to go on with it early.
