Picks & Analysis for 1/11/24

Race 1 | Dirt | 8 Furlongs | Post 12:50 ET
#5 Flash Kiss Passes the test for this first time route. Foundation was building sustainable speed +5 to +12 as a sprinter does. However, older form here is much tighter at +3 and +2 last couple. This often signals a runner that is in current form to handle a stretch out in distance.

Race 2 | Dirt | 6.5 Furlongs | Post Time 1:18 ET
#7 Simple Sugar Several NPT options in this field but pretty tough to ignore this one off a 78/64h NPT which is the field’s fastest Last 4F Figure coupled to field’s fastest Last Final Figure.

Race 3 | Dirt | 6 Furlongs | Post Time 1:47 ET
#5 Jackie The Joker In a bet-back spot off a dud when trying to route out of an NPT. Outside of that angle, many could win this as indicated by the tight ML spread. Only other angle of value would be Value Plays’ algorithm pegging the shipper #6 Killy Start as the one to beat.

Race 4 | Dirt | 6 Furlongs | Post 2:17 ET
#1 Bern Rosey Bern Draws the rail off back-to-back NPTs and seems to be doing well with a couple solid works and no gap in competition despite triggering those conditioning patterns.

Race 5 | Dirt | 8 Furlongs | Post 2:47 ET
#9 Locke And Key Looks like a competitive field with lots of good tactical speed so this one could come down to who can work the best trip and offer a lot of value if you’re able to find the winner going skinny. #9 gets the nod here with the incremental spread progression we want to see for a stretch out “reversing” +3 to +1h to -3h.
#5 Aula popped a stout 75/72 line off the NPT in last. Question as to whether he’s got it in the tank to duplicate that but if the price is right, potential exists in this field for him to control this race flow.

Race 6 | Dirt | 7 Furlongs | Post 3:18 ET
#7 Confirmed Star intriguing invader from Parx off a strong conditioning foundation of COMP/DTOP/DTOP/NPT. We’ll see how accurate this ML is but if indeed double-digits, very interested.

Race 7 | Dirt | 6 Furlongs | Post 3:47 ET
#3 Desert Dalliance Typically when an older runner spikes a big “out of the blue” running line such as the 78h/72h NPT last out and it’s accompanied with a trainer change, it’s not a fluke and the results are repeatable.
#1 Starship Defiant / #1A Taming The Tigress
Get two shots with the coupled entry here and can cover a wide net of possible race flows. Starship has 80+ 4F Figure potential while looking more tactical in last tightening to 75/70 while Tigress is even tighter and would threaten as the best late speed in here if the set-up materializes.
#4 Peak Of Chic Habitual winner is in strong condition currently second off the CPT and thought worth mentioning at least as a board hitter as she might offer a decent price.

Race 8 | Dirt | 6 Furlongs | Post 4:16 ET
#7 Going For Glory
61h/58h buried between off track starts is best of field’s fast-rated track tries so might have a nice disguised value play here.
#13 Rezoom Debuts in a weak field for prominent connections and if you’re going to draw way outside, prefer it to be a maiden claiming event.
